Niagara Reptiles is a life
time interest and hobby grown out of control. I've always
had a love for animals, especially reptiles, since as far
back as I can remember. I can recall keeping native species
of snakes, amphibians and turtles as pets during summer months
when I was a child, and purchased my first reptile from a pet
store at the age of twelve (a Colombian
Boa Constrictor). Little did I know, that modest
beginning would grow into an extensive collection and successful
business......and I've never been without reptiles in the house
since.
Over the years I've cared for several exotic species of snakes,
lizards, geckos, turtles, tortoises, crocodilians and
amphibians. I don't think I would be where I am today
without the support of my parents. When I was a teenager
my collection was growing rapidly so Mom and Dad allowed me to
take over another room across the hall for my animals, my
first reptile room! I don't think they were ever as into
it as I was though they still supported me and allowed me to
keep my collection in their house.
I have also been fortunate to have experienced many captive breedings
among the species in my care as well. Those who know me are
aware of my strong feelings regarding the importance of captive
breeding programs. Not only will captive reproduction ensure
a healthy captive population of many species, I hope will
also encourage the same passion that I have for the animals
in future generations through exposure and experience. Education
is the key to conservation, in both captivity and in the wild.
We pride ourselves in quality and genetic diversity
and are happy to pass along any advise and experiences we've
had to those that may also be able to take something
educational from it.
Thank for you considering us for quality, captive bred reptiles
and for supporting the captive propagation of reptiles in
Canada! |
